Although not a Tennessee Walking Horse, the influence of Boone's Grey John, sire of Buford L. F-11, Bramlett F-9 and Grey Lad, is still being felt today. The modern Grey Johns, with their long necks and high heads, are much more elegant than their rather coarse-looking ancestors, and are found in the pedigrees of MANY World Grand Champions, especially the most recent winners. Many non-winners of the roses have brought this Grey John blood forward into the blue ribbon pedigrees, including Prides John Grey (Larkspur of Glen Luce to Bramlett F-9); Another Grey John; Prides Gold Coin (Sun's Delight D.); and Lady Fame (Sun's Delight D.) Since 1963 (Sun's Delight D.), 28 World Grand Champion pedigrees have traced back to him, and EVERY World Grand Champion's pedigree since 2005 includes the blood of this plain-looking horse. The Grey John blood was also combined with the Ebony Masterpiece line, through 4 of his World Grand Champion sons.  The genes of Boone's Grey John have spread to countries like Canada, England, Scotland, Wales, The Netherlands, France, Israel and New Zealand.
