Jimmy McConnell and Gen A'Mighty are the new World Grand Champions of the 2018 Celebration. The final class of the evening, the show’s long-awaited finale, featured some of the industry’s best professionals; all had their own support and their own paths that led them to this moment. The class featured eight of the industry’s best and closed out the night with an eight-horse workout. Three-time reserve world champions Gen A’Mighty and Jimmy McConnell were unstoppable for the win for owner Mike Floyd of Columbia, Tennessee.  Jimmy McConnell's WGC Stake win tonight ties him with Billy Gray as having most wins with different horses. They each have 4 World Grand Championships now.

Reserve finishers I’m Mayhem and Rodney Dick will proudly hang their hats back at Finish Line Farms and for owner Jo Ann Dowell. A Bruce Pearl finished third for Lisa Baum with John Allan Callaway up while Master’s Razzel And Jazz and Herbert Derickson walked out with fourth. 

So what do we know about our new World Grand Champion? He was bred by Gary Higgins of Houlka MS, foaled Oct. 28, 2011 and sold to Thomas L. Vinson of Columbus, MS on Sept. 9, 2012. He was sold again on Dec 21, 2013 to his current owner, Mr. Michael R. Floyd of Columbia, TN. His original registered name was GEN'S ENCORE MAN.  He has been shown 24 times, winning 8 blues and 6 reserves.  Tonight he was not taking 'NO' for an answer.

GEN A'MIGHTY #21103350 aka GENS ENCORE MAN has an impressive pedigree. He is the son of Gens Black Gin; the grandson of Gen.'s Fable and Prides Jubilee Encore; and the  great grandson of Prides Generator, Ultra Copy, Prides Jubilee Star, Lady Fame and Prides Choice Cut.
Gen A'Mighty and Jimmy reveal the secret of their success - lots and lots of hard work!!
