In the spring of 2016, Dr. Robert C. Watkins, Jr. MD of Chicago Heights, IL took his Lined With Cash daughter, Maypine's Doll Baby to be bred to Honors. On April 30, 2017, she delivered a big black son who was named Maypine's Chauncey. On February 24, 2020, the colt was sold to Jeff Faulkner of Ethridge, TN., who changed his name to Justified Honors. On May 11, 2020, the young stallion was purchased by Lisa Baum, who put him in the show ring. As you can see below, he didn't let her down. 6 blues and 1 Reserve in 7 outings.

This year, he won the Four Year Old World Championship on Wednesday night and then came back on Saturday night to become the 2021 World Grand Champion. So...when you see this 17 hand, solid black walking machine coming down the chute at you and a wave of anxiety washes over you,.........

it's "Justified!!"

 The 2021 Celebration heralded the onslaught of the progeny of Honors into the Winners Circle. And so it began. The 3 Year Old Stallions World Championship was won by Kobe 24 (by Honors) with another Honors son, Honor And Remember taking third. The following night, several talented Honors colts in the 4 Year Old Stallions World Championship met their huge, black half-brother, Justified Honors and got left in the dust. 

Justified Honors is the first of the sons of Honors to win the roses, but almost certainly, not the last!

You gotta love this John Alan Callaway guy... you give him a horse and he brings home the roses. Last year, now this year.. it's getting to be a habit. :)

So it's over again for another year, and what a Celebration it was. Despite a pandemic and a hurricane, the caliber of the horses, the talent of the riders and the intensity of the competition delivered a level of excitement that hasn't been seen in years.
